A Baltimore Native born in August of 1973; the 3rd of 5 children. At an early age, I was taught to love my community, to dream big and the importance of education. When I was 4 years old my father told me to DREAM BIG and I could do anything I want to. Prior to my paternal grandfather passing at age 9, my last conversation impacted my life. He was at the end of a long HARD battle with cancer. In a LOUD whisper he said to me, ‘DON’T GIVE UP”. That conversation spoke to my soul. No matter how hard the days got, I remember what he told me. These two events helped mold and shape me into the person I am today.

I was educated in the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public school system. I was a C student. But after age 9, I learned how to dig deep and not quit. I attended Mt. Royal Elementary Middle School; one of the best schools in Baltimore City. In 1988 my family moved to Randallstow, MD, and I attended Randallstown High School and graduated in 1992. I was a below average football player and a slightly above average track sprinter. However, I started to develop my competitive spirit.

Upon graduating from Randallstown, I attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The college environment neutered my talents and dreams. It was here that I realized the importance of community service and my ambitions to be successful in business. However, I was not sure on what I wanted to do for my career. Everything from a lawyer (like my father) to a physical therapist. I shadowed my father one on one of his cases. I remember he told me that my reputation is extremely important. Everyday, you have to build your reputation by engaging in business with the highest of integrity. That lesson carried me to every business endeavor.

I eventually graduated from college in 1998 with a bachelors of science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. My college experience was more than academics. UMES was an institution that molded my childhood lessons and nurtured my adulthood ambitions.

I have over 25 years of hospitality and customer experience. I have achieved many accolades from employee of the month to positive reviews etc. But most important are the relationships I cultivated during my journey. I always took responsibility for my actions and did the right thing.

In 2019, I met my mentor on social media. Out of respect, I will keep him anonymous. He introduced me to the Life Insurance business with Family First Life. It is funny how the universe works, the culture of Family First Life fires perfectly with my ideals of integrity and community service.
